State Opera in Karlin
Karlin Musical Theatre is the second largest theatre in Prague after the State Opera. This Nouveau Baroque building was constructed in 1881. Initially, with benches inside, it was used as a circus. Later it was adapted as a place for variety shows: cabaret in the 1920 s, Modern Opera, musical theatre and operetta after the War II. It was destroyed by a devastating flood in 2002 and reconstructed again to its present splendour.
